General Description of the netexcel Mk4
~ Internet Kiosk ~
A small footed (700sq cm) Coin Operated
Internet Kiosk doubles as an advertising machine. They have
been designed for the use in semi secure locations, such as cafes,
hotels, restaurants, libraries, airports etc.
The robust metal frame and timber bench houses the latest computer
technology. Two flat TFT LCD screens are back to back with a standard
size keyboard and mouse. Our research has found that users
prefer a machine with a normal feel.

Construction and operation
Each side has a steel and stainless steel control
tower which consists of
1) LCD display informs the user about the type of coin to insert. Time
remaining and other functions. This display is driven by a micro processor.
It is used for coin counting and computer hardware control. During the
access it keeps the user informed about the session.
2) Coin Validator. This is a high grade Australian made
device. Incredibly reliable
3) Illuminated Cleaner Button. This feature is a manual
way to end the session and cleanse the machine ready for the next user,
if the client has finished before their time has expired

General Client Operation
Start
* Main screen may be displaying an advertising slide
show or the web page of your construction. If the advertising slide
show is in action, every third slide may have the" welcome to our
internet. Please insert coins to continue".
* Mouse and keyboard are hardware disabled. Note: impossible to software
cheat. This machine is un hack able.
* The coin display prompts for coin insertion and specifies the denomination.
* Once a coin is inserted the keyboard and mouse are enabled and the
coin display starts to count down.
* The client uses the machine in a normal way.
* At one minute left an audible beep is sounded and the display prompts
the user to insert more coins for continued use.
* At 10 seconds remaining a beep every second is sounded till the count
reaches 0 seconds. At this time the mouse and keyboard are disabled.
* A pause of 20* seconds to enable the client continue the session by
inserting more coins.
* Failing to insert coins results in the validator to inhabit insertion
of coins whilst signalling the system to reset for next user.
At this time the following procedures occur:
1) Coin validator is inhabited
2) The coin display says "please wait"
3) A signal is sent to system to reset for next user.
4) Any changes to the software or data written to the drive are
removed.
5) Returns the web page proving it is ready for the next user.
6) Keyboard and mouse are still disabled.
7) Coin validator is enabled
8) Coin display prompts for coin insertion.
9) System ready to go. [approximate duration 35 seconds]
